where the air sways against shadowed leaves
creeping between ancient branches
deep below the bark, next to the grain,
beats a giant’s heart
I seek refuge in the trees
light-footed in the shadows,
ducking between rays of yellow white
tightly wrapped in twines and vines
I marvel at the old one’s heart
